The Longmeadow Public School District's Largest Elementary
Blueberry Hill School is not only the largest elementary, but is second only to Longmeadow High School
in student population. With the renovations of 2003, Blueberry doubled in size and was transformed
into a modern learning facility. All classrooms have LCD projectors and can show the teacher's computer
screen or the output from a video cassette player. Every classroom has multiple desktop computers with
internet access. There is a full-sized gymnasium, child-safe outdoor playground structure and a beautiful
new library.
By far our best asset is our teachers and staff. BHS students have the benefit of the best academic
instruction in an environment dedicated to developing the whole child. Students with special needs
have access to dedicated reading, speech and resource rooms and staff.
In addition to the excellent facilities, teachers and staff at Blueberry Hill, we have a proactive
Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and many parent volunteers that work to enhance
the learning environment for every BHS student.

FYI
Absences
For your child's safety, we keep accurate records of student absences. Parents are asked
to call the office before any expected absences, and as soon a possible for unexpected
absences. If you forget to call, one of our parent volunteers will call you at some point
in the morning to confirm that you have kept your child out of school that day.
Half Days
During parent-teacher conference weeks, we have two half days of school. On these days, or
any half days, the students are released at 11:30 and no lunch is served in the cafeteria.
New Sign in Procedure:
Important, new check in procedures when entering the school: After being admitted into the building, visitors must report to the office, sign the visitor log, take a visitor badge, noting the badge number on the visitor log. Visitors will be asked to leave their car keys in the office; their keys will be returned when they sign out and return the badge.
