Press Release

It is our pleasure to announce that Mrs. Susan Newton will be serving as Glenbrook Middle School's interim principal for 2011-2012.  Susan has been an active member of the Glenbrook Community for the past sixteen years where she has served as a team leader and teacher.  Ms. Newton has taught in grades 6, 7 and 8 in a variety of disciplines: special education, math, social studies, science and language arts.

In addition, Mrs. Newton has been a member of the Child Study Team for five years.  She also was a member of the Crisis Team, Leadership Team and a variety of other school and district committees.  Finally, she has worked on curriculum in all four major subjects areas, giving her a well rounded knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

As Team Leader, Susan facilitated communication between teams and administration as well as evaluated teachers.  She oversaw the coordination of the MCAS and assisted with scheduling, discipline and curriculum.

Combined, these experiences provide Mrs. Newton with a rich background and a plethora of middle school experiences that make her the right person to fill this role.   We welcome Susan Newton as the Interim Principal of Glenbrook Middle School.

Sincerely,
Marie Doyle
Superintendent
