The Longmeadow School Committee conducted interviews with Superintendent Finalists Dr. Neil Gile, principal of Wolf Swamp Road Elementary School and Mr. Marty O’Shea, Superintendent of Hampden Wilbraham Regional School District last night. During the meeting the finalists were asked a wide ranging set of pre-determined questions that covered a wide range of topics.. These Questions were submitted by School Committee members prior to knowing who the finalists would be

Following the interviews, the School Committee determined that they would conduct site visits at Wolf Swamp Road Elementary School in Longmeadow on Monday December 21, 2015 and at Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District on Tuesday December 22, 2015 in order to get a better understanding of the finalists in their own environment.

The School Committee will meet again on Tuesday December 22, 2015 at 2:30pm to conduct follow up interviews and then vote to offer the position to a candidate.

“The interviews offered a great deal of insight into the style and vision of both of these accomplished educators. Given the importance of this decision, the School Committee wants to make sure they have done their due diligence and have the chance to clear up any questions that remain,” said School Committee Chairman Janet Robinson

During the meeting, Chairman Janet Robinson and member John Fitzgerald both indicated that they were unavailable Tuesday’s meeting but may participate remotely.
