Principal for Blueberry Hill School Announcement

posted Jun 7, 2017, 8:41 AM by Dianne Georgantas

Dr. Marty O’Shea, Superintendent of the Longmeadow Public Schools, is pleased to announce that Ms. Amy Bostian, the Principal at Thornton W. Burgess Middle School in Hampden, MA, has accepted the position of Principal of Blueberry Hill Elementary School, in Longmeadow.  Ms. Bostian will succeed Principal Marie Pratt, who is scheduled to retire at the conclusion of the school year.

The screening process was thorough, lasting many weeks and involving Blueberry Hill parents, teachers, and staff.  We had a deep applicant pool with many experienced, qualified educators, but Ms. Bostian rose to the top after a series of interviews and site visits.  Her extensive experience as a school instructional leader, her passion for children and her proven ability to lead a collaborative, spirited school were determining factors in the final decision.

Ms. Bostian is an experienced educator who has served as a teacher and educational leader for over 17 years, mostly as a regular and special education teacher at the elementary level.

Ms. Bostian earned a Masters Degree in Learning Disabilities Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University.  Her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, is from Worcester State University.

Dr. O’Shea looks forward to introducing Ms. Bostian to the community.   The Longmeadow Public Schools warmly welcomes her to the Blueberry Hill family. Dr. O’Shea is confident she will build on the Blueberry Hill’s foundation of educational excellence!
