The Longmeadow School Committee announced three finalists for the position of
Superintendent of Schools during a meeting held on Monday December 14, 2015. The finalists are Wolf
Swamp Road School Elementary School Principal Neil Gile, Associate Superintendent for Strategy and
Accountability of the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation of Indiana, Catherine Minihan, and
Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District Superintendent Marty O’Shea
The finalists were chosen following a day long interview session by the Superintendent Search
Committee, a 15-member committee comprised of community members, parents, teachers, and members
of the School Committee.
“The Superintendent Search Committee has brought forward three qualified candidates, each who bring a
unique skillset to the table. As a committee, we’re fortunate to have had so many applicants come forward
in hopes of working in Longmeadow. Our community has always placed education at the forefront, and
their expectations during this process have been high. We’re confident that our next Superintendent will
embody that same expectation of excellence,” said School Committee Chairperson Janet Robinson.
The School Committee will host an informal meet and greet with each of the candidates at 4:00pm on
Thursday December 17 at Longmeadow High School. The School Committee will meet Thursday at
5:00pm at Longmeadow High School to conduct interviews with the finalists. Following the interviews,
the School Committee has the option to offer a contract to the finalist of their choosing.
