Dear Longmeadow Community:

The Special Programs Committee would like to invite you to attend our Speaker Series for 2015-2016.  Three speakers have been retained for our parents.  All events will be held at the LHS Auditorium at 7pm.

            Speaker:  Christine Duvivier

            Topic:  “Beyond the Myths of Education—A Better Frame of Reference”

            Duvivier’s mission is to help people discover untapped reservoirs of potential and build resilience to live successful, positive lives.  Duvivier  works to uncover the innate gifts in kids who are not A students and shows them how to develop these gifts for success in life.

Topic:  “Under Construction:  What Every Parent Must Know About Your Tween/Teen’s Brain Development”

 

            Dr. Ruth Potee is a family medicine doctor practicing in Greenfield, Massachusetts and is co-Chair of the Opioid Task Force of Franklin County’s health care committee.

            Lynn Lyons, LICSW and author of Anxious Kids, Anxious Parents:  7 Ways to Stop the Worry Cycle and Raise Courageous & Independent Children, looks at the ways in which mental techniques can be used to overcome anxiety, handle pressure, and manage the challenges of daily life.
