Superintendent Marie H. Doyle Announces Retirement

Longmeadow - Longmeadow Public Schools Superintendent Marie H. Doyle has announced her retirement at the conclusion of the 2015-2016 School Year. Ms. Doyle, who previously served as Superintendent of Carlisle’s School District and Principal of Bigelow Middle School in Newton, has been at the helm of the Longmeadow Public Schools since 2010.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve as Longmeadow 's superintendent because I have worked with a gifted staff and dedicated administrators.  The students are among the best on the planet due to great parents who have been so supportive of education. I am also thankful for thoughtful School Committee members who always keep their eyes on the child. I have been blessed to work in this community,” Doyle said. “It is important that I announce my plans to School Committee now so that they may to conduct a search in a timely manner.  They will need the summer to find a consulting firm, the fall to oversee focus

groups, and the wintertime to hire a new superintendent.”

Janet Robinson, Chair of the School Committee said,  “I have been fortunate to have had the pleasure of working with Marie for the last 2 years, and she has contributed so much to the Longmeadow Public Schools. She has always focused on doing what is best for the students and her retirement is a loss for Longmeadow.” The School Committee will release a plan for the Superintendent Search in July.
