The Community and School System

Longmeadow is home to three elementary schools, two middle schools and the Longmeadow High School.  Our schools enjoy a long history of academic excellence and a commitment to continuous improvement.   With a focus on diversity, equity and inclusivity, our educators plan lessons to meet the needs of all learners.  Longmeadow is a town, with generous green spaces and the majority of our families are within walking distance of schools, parks and playgrounds.  Local restaurants and shopping are also part of the towns charm.  In addition, Longmeadow is a suburb of Springfield, MA which hosts an abundance of cultural and arts, dining and entertainment opportunities.

The system's excellent schools are a major reason people move into Longmeadow.  District scores on state tests have each year been among the highest in the state. In 2023-2024, The Longmeadow Public Schools serves about 2800 students in grades PreK-12. The system is composed of six schools; one (9-12) high school, two (6-8) middle schools, two (K-5) elementary schools, and one (Pre Kindergarten-5)  elementary school .
